Daniel's Ethio-Jazz Trio performs original music by its drummer/composer/leader alongside that of Mulatu Astatke (the “father of Ethio-Jazz”) and others in the genre. Daniel has performed and/or recorded with a who’s who of Ethiopian music including Aster Aweke, Mahmoud Ahmed & Alemayehu Eshete. The genre itself combines ancient Ethiopian music traditions with American, Caribbean & Latin influences for a unique international jazz sound. Joining Daniel are Simeon Abbott on keyboards & Roger Williams on bass.
